Multi-day sailing excursion
When a single day is not enough to fully enjoy the beauty of southern Crete, a multi-day sailing trip becomes a necessity.
When a single day is not enough to fully enjoy the beauty of southern Crete, a multi-day sailing trip becomes a necessity. The southern coastline of Chania is packed with so many breathtaking destinations that even we find it hard to choose! Our multi-day trips range from two to five days, offering you the chance to experience up close the magic and uniqueness of this paradise on the southern side of Chania. Towering mountains rise directly above our best destinations, providing natural protection from the strong northern winds that dominate the Aegean in summer and often make travel challenging.
Fortunately, these strong winds are blocked by the mountains, making this the only place in Crete where we enjoy calm seas almost all summer long.
The stunning coastline from Chora Sfakion to Paleochora is full of incredible destinations, with overnight stops in the serene natural bay of Loutro, the beautiful and secluded cove of Lissos—rich in archaeological interest—and Agia Roumeli, located at the exit of the Samaria Gorge.
On a multi-day trip, we can also visit the breathtaking Balos Lagoon and the island of Gramvousa, spending the night in this stunning and remote setting. Another exotic destination is the island of Gavdos, just 22 miles from Chora Sfakion and the southernmost point of Europe. We almost always enjoy smooth sailing with light winds on this open-sea route, which never fails to thrill.
Gavdos is the ultimate remote paradise, featuring crystal-clear waters and untouched beaches, even in the peak of summer. On the island’s few tavernas, you’ll find freshly caught fish, and life on Gavdos moves at a peaceful, unhurried pace, far from the distractions of the modern world. Our itinerary includes the stunning bays of Trypiti, Potamos, and Sarakiniko, while the charming and well-protected port of Karave serves as a safe anchorage for our adventure.
