How is the Sea Cruise in Chania?

Chania has a very beautiful coastline and many options for boat trips. If you choose to ride from the Venetian harbor you will enjoy entering and exiting the beautiful harbor but the destinations near the city are not so enticing. The island of Agios Theodoros is a destination and is just 5 miles North-West from the port of Chania, being a protected area hosting the Cretan goat which is rare to meet in the summer months. The tourist boats that anchor there every day are too many, and many times you won’t find free space even for anchoring in the beautiful places. In the negatives of the place, the noise from and the loud music that can be heard from the seaside bars, while the waves with north and west winds are annoying. The next destination on the north side is Machairida. It is located on the eastern side of the city of Chania and is essentially a nudist beach. It is a beautiful picturesque bay but almost all the boats from the city of Chania flock there and the result is rather annoying. We would not recommend swimming at all at Lazaretta Island as all the tourist day boats go there every day and it is dangerous to swim with so many boats there. Also the sea there is not clean.
