Ideal boat for an excursion

The ideal boat for holidays in southern Crete is undoubtedly a sailboat because it is essentially an independent accommodation that allows you to stay wherever you want without depending on hotels, taverns and anything else that spoils your isolation. The many bays where you can anchor freely and spend the night are the ultimate destination. The waters are shallow in most places and with a sandy bottom, while it is possible to spend the night just a few meters from the shore. The weather in the summer months never changes abruptly, as the north winds do not affect the area and you always sleep soundly at night. During the day we almost always have a sea breeze blowing from the west which allows the boat to move under sail and the absence of waves makes sailing exciting. A very important factor is that there are not many large boats in South Crete and this offers excellent privacy and isolation compared to North Crete, while there are dozens of deserted beaches to explore. Also, Gavdos is a dream destination for a sailboat as there is always a favorable wind to reach one. Also in Gavdos there are amazing places to stay with the most impressive being the bay of Tripiti which is also the southernmost point of Europe.
