Multi-day trip to South Crete
If the islands of the Aegean and Ionian seas seem too popular and crowded to you, visit Crete and indeed the Southern paradise that is well hidden from tour guides and big noisy groups. The high mountains start from sea level and reach an altitude of 2450 meters and the strong winds of August will not spoil your vacation. There are no waves on the south-western coasts of Crete since there are never northerly winds, while only a few times during the month strong westerly winds blow. The coastline includes the best beaches in Crete (Glyka nera, Loutro, Marmara, St. Pavlos, Domata,) but also the most beautiful picturesque villages that have the peculiarity of not being connected by a road. The waters are crystal clear as there are no hotel units in the area, while there are also few pleasure boats in this area. Of course we will also visit the island of Gavdos which is the southernmost point in Europe and is 22 miles from Crete and we will enjoy the pristine beaches and the beautiful blue-green waters, while the wind that always prevails will offer sailing thrills.
